i think it is up to the owners taste . i have fenders + no chop & i like it that way . i drive mine year round & dont like the spray of no fenders . i have had serious thoughts of a small chop to the top , but then it can not be put back if i dont like it . well it could be but never the same . just my thoughts ............ steve

  9. Heres a few pictures of cars not chopped that normally would be a prime canidate. I for one will take em either way. Love chopped cars, but also own some un-chopped cars. So I am not one one side of the fence vs. the other, just showing not EVEYTHING has to have a radical chop to be cool. Just my opinion.

Chris' post is prime example...no chop with the right stance looks cool...

if going really fast is cool
then you will want to reduce your car's frontal area

a tall flat windshield will slow you down, that's not cool

if it's a question of prefered style
you should answer that for yourself

Both are cool as long as the rest of the car design goes with it

  16. the question is "can it be AS cool" so, can an unchopped car be cool? of course it can. is it AS cool as chopped? never.

Hadnt planed to chop my a sedan but after mockup I thought I had take 4 in out. Now I like the look and stance better but the wife and kids dont like the head room in the back seat.some times YOU have to decide what looks best.

It does depend on the car, and haven't you heard? Unchopped is the new chopped. :D

The 53 & 54 Chevy HT are the hard ones to decide to chop or not. They kinda already have a chop compared to the sedans and look killer from the factory. But one of these with a mild chop like moon glow or Fred G's (now owned by another Hamb member) Colonel and others look sick as well. I'm on the fence right now with my 53 HT. I want to chop it, but can't seem to find the time or room for the project and still dig it unchopped.....hmmmm..

    Well guys.
I have chopped a stock 32 5wnd body and it is very cool.
I ended up selling the car and now I have just got another 5wnd body that is chopped 2"

I want to build a 5wnd to keep for myself as a resto rod.
I just cant get the idea out of my head to UNCHOP this body.
I have some stock doors and another roof, so it would be an easy job.
Or I may just sell the body and buy a nice original????
If I unchop it, I will do a full post of the progress.
I like em chopped, but I am an unchopped guy

i prefer both, it just depends on the shape of the glass...and what shape the car is in when you get it...the guy before me had the lines all taped up for a 3 inch chop...its a 1952 studebaker...the glass was in to good of shape for the chop so i am going to leave it well enough alone...

Depends on the car, depends on the talent of the person doing the chop. A great job really improves some cars, but I think there are more cars fucked up by chopping than improved.

    Cool blows either way.
