Is this a picture of Von Dutch himself or just some dude with a finger up his nose?

Read up on the man and if the unseen hand is full of wine, that pic captures him perfectly.

Dutch wasn't a racer. Just a filthy dude who spent a lot of time on motorcycles. Or so the stories go.

From what I've heard he's in his late 50's, very early 60's in that picture, but he looks like hes 85 or 90, just goes to show that hard living can really take its toll on you.

nope, i dont. his art wasnt all that inspiring, while i do dig his stripe work and abilities as a machinist... but face it, the guy was a racist douchbag in life, why celebrate that now?

No, I think you don't get it. Kenny always lived, but Kenny had to eat, and therefore Dutch had to live too. Possibly far longer than was good for Kenny, the craziest among us usually get worse if they have a talent that will pay the bills. Normal, run of the mill talentless people are forced to reel in the craziness or go hungry.

The man had a lot of facets, good and bad.

Even for those that know them personally, it's difficult to present unbiased summaries of people like this because each facet doesn't necessarily reflect upon the others. Add in a creative personality who understood about first impressions (almost as a performance art) and you come up with the paradox and urban legend that is Von Dutch.

I could be wrong but I don't think anybody "celebtrates" the man. It's all about his art. he was one hell of a machinist and an originator. THAT's the mark he left.........

He sure was not molded by the present day cookie cutter school systems. He thought outside the box which alienated many people from him.

I asked for a unbias summary of his life and so far all I got was opinions.
What did he do that was brilliant and leave the bad shit out if you like.
What was he famous for? etc
So far all we have are opinions but nobody has laid it out.
He is dead so lets get a simple biography.

No need to get emotional about it just the facts would be nice!!!!

They jump on me about every 5 minutes on this forum for something so dont worry about it, some folks just suffer from irritable bowel syndrome and we just have put up with it.
