I saw this 1937 plate Saturday in So-Cal. The owner had another 1937 plate on the back. The question is could it be a real plate the DMV produced in 1937 or is it a swap meet re-pop?

  3. My gut says FAKE, but I have been wrong before. Too bad you can't put a magnet on it, I bet it is aluminum. Here is a site with pictures of plates: http://www.worldlicenseplates.com/ The color looks off but that could just be the camera or lighting. The plate numbers look like someone made them up but who knows. Do you have a picture of the rear plate?

I do but it is not good. The rear plate says: "Small "M" over small "M", 37 78"

It could be a 1937 sample plate. Most sample plates were and are all zeros.
