I saw this in the background of one of the pictures in the 35-36 Ford pickup thread.
    note rpu brookville maybe.JPG
The body looks a little long for a roadster pickup... which is a good thing for a fellow my size.
It also caught my eye because it has a Buick engine.
    Anybody know the vehicle?

Looks more like a closed cab pickup with the top cut off

For sure a closed cab. Wrong windshield for a roadster.

Well, since y'all so prompt I'll tell ya I just, and I mean just, bought a 29 roadster pkp project that supposedly does have a Brookville body.
I'll start the tale in a new thread if y'all don't think a Brookville body will be too offensive to the masses. It's gonna be and look like a hot rod but, like more and more hot rods; it is all new parts.
It does have a 1964 Buick engine so it somewhat meets our preferred criteria.;)
    Thanks again,
    Al
PS I'm probably gonna need some guidance on the new venture so stay tuned.:)

Based on the reveal behind the door, the body looks like Last Refuge. If it has door windows, it def is.

It does have door windows...and they are installed!;)
I don't know if Brookville offers or ever offered windows for a roadster pickup.
Thanks greatly for the help and added info.
Guess I've got a Last Refuge body. I bought it from guy that took project in on trade so can't really fault him.;)
Glad that it is steel no matter who made it!:)
    Thanks again.

For quite some time, I thought that I'd like to have one of those Last Refuge bodies. A roadster with windows you can roll up... hell yes. Awesome. Good for you. It looks well built and you didn't even have to wait to get it.

Are you serious? For sure it’s not a B’Ville.

  14. A Roadster with windows is the best, especially when it's hot or cold or rainy. I do try to avoid snow.

A Roadster with windows is a Corvette.

Words have so many definitions in our hobby. I was poking fun at the plastic fantastic as we always refer to them as roadsters even though they have side glass rather than curtains.

I call mine a roadster as well, but I don’t post pictures of it with the windows up

My O.T. Mercedes-Benz 300 SL is a roadster. Says so on the pink.

    But, it's not a roadster...not really...

Phil, since you asked, I did complete the buy about the quickest I ever have.
Luckily, we both deal with the same bank though he's in FL and I'm in VA. My banker said for me to draw cashiers check from our bank payable to him and include in memo it's payment for the car. Then I deposited the cashiers check in to his bank account... they texted me the name on the account and the account number.
Just like that; it was done. The money will be available to him the next day(tomorrow) which is how nearly all deposits work at most banks.
    Then I took this picture:
    hand of al.JPG
    Then I sent this text:
hand of al sent to jim.PNG
Then his wife immediately sent me this text:
hand of jim back to al.PNG
A virtual handshake ain't the same but we both understood.;):D:D

Before the handshakes, I texted them a picture of the receipt I got for the deposit into their account. I then asked if I could start thinking of the car as mine? He said sure... tomorrow!!:D:D(When the money would be available!:D:D)
I won't know for sure what I've got until it gets here but I do know that we have both had a lot of fun making and executing the deal.;):)

Nice to have a good memory of acquiring each of the parts from various people for a project.

^^Seller said all receipts he has relating to the car will be in big sealed folder in the car.;)
That will give me a record of the work done and by whom... he bought the whole Buick 401 kit recommended by the Buick guru out West. I've got a pair of still in the wrapper 15X5 powdercoated wheels that take early Ford caps. Tires on front are the 165/80/15 I prefer so at least one end will be ready to go.;)
Not sure what to do about those 13.5" cheater slicks on the rear.:D
    Opportunities!:D:D

Looking at this stock 28 someone has taken some "artistic" license with that body in post 7. The back panel looks like the back panel off a sedan or touring.
Not on stock and on Brookville RP's the back panel is flat. file1928-ford-roadster-pickupjpg_7c488 (2).jpg

Here's the original picture that started this thread. I repeat it here so y'all can more easily compare it to the original one above.
The one I bought today definitely is not a Brookville to answer the original question and the one I bought is from Last Refuge.
Thanks to all for the help and insight on these roadster pickups.:)

I updated the title with the answer.
