Projects Is this a 33 Ford ?

Discussion in 'Traditional Hot Rods' started by LowKat, Jun 22, 2019.

  1. Went to an estate sale today and bought this for $10.
Probably going to be yard art.
Any idea what it started out as?

    yes, '33...
'34 had little dents at the cowl / firewall seam to hang the rear of the hood side in...
'33 had a little tab soldered / brazed to the radiator to hang the front of the hood side in...
henry said make these cars cheaper... the dent was cheaper to build...

I know $10 Flowerpots are hard to come by...:D

  10. Those trunk lid hinge brackets are worth way more than $10!!
    Mine were missing.
The body panels look good enough to fix somebody's project.
A McPherson (sp?) sub frame and floor and you're half way there.

    great score... made me smile...
23 years ago I was hauling a tag a long camper to his garage for a buddy...
his "less than fragrent" nephew was there...
I couldn't get away in time... he walks up to my truck, rocks back and forth toe to heel... he asks me to guess what he's got... I came an inch from saying AIDS ?
he says '34 3 window body... I was piecing one together at the time... I started to ask if it was a $100 body or a $1000 body... he cut me off and said he'd take the $100 for it...
    .
    SOLD...
header and front sills rusted through, separating it from the rest...
had the cowl, doors, rear clip and subfoor… I gave him an extra $20 as when we walked up towards it the decklid was laying on the ground... never got the body unloaded from my pick up … a good buddy HAD to have it... made us both very happy !
like to do that once a year...

Clark was looking for a quarter panel, I'd give him a call before you buy Geraniums.

From what I can see in the background of the photo, it looks like there was a lot of other pretty good junk there!

Hey splice the garden hose coupster protection devices and you can water them...I'm curious did they do that...never know...

Did you get any history? Those mods could be Jalopy Racer...

Please don’t do that, - pass it on to someone who wants to build a hot rod out of it !

    Nice!
I had a 331 hemi and an early Ford transmission adapter given to me at an estate sale once. They gave me a bunch of other stuff as well to help them get rid of it because it was so heavy.
    Um, OK! If you insist.

    Those would include the roof?..

This was a coupe it was described...Could it be a Cabriolet? I know the fellas here say it's a Coupe it probably is.

As we saw just recently here Cabriolets make awesome Hotrods...

That is a great start to a car. My cars are always less than that.
