I am in desperate need of a chrome Standard Bob Drake grille for my coupe. ( Or just the passenger side) I checked with Drake but they are out of stock at the moment. Does anybody know of another vendor that has some in stock? Thanks.

Try C & G Ford Parts. According to their website, they have one in stock. I've also had good luck with All Ford in San jose, Ca.

Yep we must have crossed paths again! I hit the chin pan on the way down to the bourbon run which busted the pass side upper corner. By the time I got home tonight it had a piece missing out of it.

Thanks for all the leads guys. I have one located an hour and a half away and am leaving to go pick it up shortly. I am also thinking about fabricating some type of bracing structure that ties the grille/fenders all together with the crossmember. To hopefully alleviate all the stress put on the grille from the front sheet metal trying to move around.

I bet the problem is "hitting the chin pan". Maybe build a skid plate under the tip of the chin. That's what I'm going to do for my standard tudor.

Well bumping the chin pan didn't do it any favors for sure, but the grille side had been cracked for some time. The chin pan hitting just finished it off. I'm not running the "slingshot" inner fender brace because of a motor swap and the replacement brackets don't provide much lateral support. Which I believe is the root of the problem.

Yes, that yoke is the key for the 40's original fender support. Same concept as the original suspension's wishbones, the central pivot point keeps the jiggling frame from also shaking the sheet metal.
