Yep, read the rules, every 3 days....not before....

The rules for using this forum. Read before posting.

    --------------------------------------------------------------------------------

    CARS for sale
Each item listed must include at least a body and a rolling frame. Cars and Trucks only. Motorcycles should be listed at www.jockeyjournal.com
THE CUTOFF IS 1964. Unless the vehicle shares the EXACT same body style. NO VW'S or Mustangs. There are plenty of other sites for them.

    YOU MUST INCLUDE PRICES.
The price must be in the price category. If you are selling multiple items put “listed” in the price box. Just want to trade? List it in the Wanted section with TRADE in the title.
Every item for sale must be listed and every item listed must have a price. If you are parting out a car you must list the big items, with prices. You should request that interested parties Private Message (PM) or EMAIL you with other parts requests. If your Private Message’s or email is disabled your ad will be deleted.

YOUR AD MUST INCLUDE THE CITY AND STATE.
Yes, we realize that your profile may include it but it also may not. This is an attempt for us to cut down on spammers and protect YOU. We don’t want to have to check each ad to see if it’s in the profile so fill out the little box and save us all some grief.

    The “3 Day Bump Rule”
A seller may not “bump” their ad any sooner than three days since the last time THEY bumped it. Please respect your fellow HAMBers. This little rule was put into effect to keep people from bringing their ad back to the top (BTTT) in a manner detrimental to other ads. Should a seller think of something to add before the 3 days is up they may do so by editing their previous post. Vague ads may be closed or deleted at our discretion.

No EBAY, CRAIGSLIST, or links to other general listing sites.
When you list something on the HAMB you are accepting FULL RESPONSIBILITY for the transaction, just as if you were selling it yourself. If the listing is for a friend you better make damn sure they’re a good one. Links to other web-sites full of off topic or questionable material may be removed at our discretion. If that’s all the ad contains it will be removed all together.

YOUR AD MUST BE IN THE CORRECT CATEGORY.
Mis-categorized items may be moved or deleted at our discretion and convenience.

Constructive replies only. This is NOT the discussion forum.
Replies will be limited to questions and answers regarding the confirmation of a sale. Questions asked of the seller should be answered by the seller only. The "Nice setup" "Wish I were Closer" "Wish I had the money" remarks don't help and send the other ads down the list. Think a price is too high? Send the poster a PM. Remarks about pricing are pointless and they keep the ad floating at the top. If the price is high the seller should get the idea when no one replies. These types of replies will be deleted.

DO NOT POST PICTURE REQUESTS - This is what the Private Message system is for.

DO NOT POST TRADE PROPOSALS OR OFFERS. This is what the Private Message system is for.

DO NOT INQUIRE ABOUT ITEMS THAT ARE NOT LISTED.
If a seller is parting out a car and you don't see a part listed that you might need then SEND A PM.

DO NOT POST "PM SENT" OR "EMAIL SENT". Some people do this whether they want the item or not. This hurts the other ads. If you want the thing feel free to post so. If you have questions about the item and the answer would be of interest to others, post it. If you want to send a PM for whatever reason then do it. Do not do both.

Also - We have a commercial section called the HAMB O DEX for business to advertise their products- dealership. Contact FLAT Top BOB before posting in the HAMB O DEX- there are requirements. Commercial car dealers seem to want to post all their inventory in the classifieds and crowd the individual guys out, so we watch for that.

"Smart Assing", "Ball Busting", and straight up whining will not be tolerated. We'll delete it. If we delete it a lot, you'll be banned.

By posting here, you agree to allow us to edit your ad to fit the editorial focus of this site.

Feeling lippy? Want to take it out on a Moderator? Well DON'T. We all volunteer to do this and we won't take any lip. This place is free, the rules are the rules and you can either play by them or hit the pike. Send any of us a smart ass PM or make a smart ass post and you're gone.

  3. I ususally do it on a monthly basis.

  4. You can, but only after three full days have elapsed. It's right there in the Rules for Classifieds.

So... you may bump your ad if you see a reply window... The reply window only shows after your ad has been up three days... Make sense?

Another item of note on bumping ads in the classifieds - you can only bump a max of 5 ads per day. Not 6, not 7, not 10...
