Event Coverage IRON INVASION Oct. 5&6, who's participating and whatcha driving?

I am stoked about Coolstuff's latest show, The Iron Invasion. It is coming up the weekend of 10/5&6 and will be held at the McHenry, IL County fairgrounds in Woodstock, IL.

John always puts on a great show. His gate fee is a pitance compared to the entertainment provided.

I am predicting a HUGE show that will blow out the fences in Woodstock.

John has invited me to showcase my radical custom 51 Ford. What are you driving?

Super pumped for the invasion, Both my Model A and my 38 chev are coming to this one!

 

Ill be there with my truck. Probably goin up friday night and camping friday night and saturday night

Planning a little road trip down with the "Zenor Coupe". 21G and his 56 Merc. Cranky Frank's roadster and whoever else wants to caravan down.

 

I was hoping to have my '51 Merc roadworthy for this show. I just need half a miracle to still make it happen.

We have a lot of pre registrations....
but it is still not too late to send in-
what do you get?
well - a DVD in the mail around Christmas, a super cool CHROME Iron INvasion sticker that no one else gets, you get in 30 minutes early.

I am not sure about Bobwop's assessment of blowing out the fences.
The grounds themselves are quite large.
The entry to get INTO the grounds are tight.
PLEASE arrive early.
This means BEFORE 9am.
In fact - if you want to arrive on Friday night - it is OK.
Please park your car on Friday and either camp out overnight on site or carpool with some buddies back to the hotel.
This will save some drama on saturday morn.

 

I have a question...Ive seen on some flyers its $10 with free car admission...
When i go to pre-reg its 20$ and then another $10 to camp all weekend...
Now Im fine with this price and I have no problem with it...Im just trying to make sure Im doing the right dang thing.

 

if you pre register for $20 - you get the DVD
the DVD is normally $15 + $3 shipping
+ you get in 30 minutes early
+ you get an exclusive chrome Iron Invasion sticker that no one else gets

if you choose to just show up it is $10 - you get no DVD or sticker and you have to wait a bit....
At Torque Fest this cause some drama - and I had to be kind of rude to several people....
Bottom line - if you want in early - you pay in advance.
Dont want to be a jerk - but there are small priveleges for those that help us out....and by pre paying - it helps us out A LOT!

I'm hearing lots of interest from the folks in Southern WI. I was at a Cruise Night yesterday and it was buzzing about II.

 

I am planning on driving my Coupe down with my brother and some buddys also.

 

We will be there in my 50, looking forward to it. And as said earlier, John knows how to throw a party like no other. You will not be disappointed, thats for sure.

 

Depending on the weather I may bring this.

going in friday as soonn as they will let me camping in my 62 corvair van bringing my tudor

 

I'm cruising down Saturday morning in my A Tudor, along with a couple other cars (if they dont puss out), just pre-registered. I agree Bob, there's alot of guys talking about/ looking forward to this show.....

 

I plan on driving my 50 fleetline, its a big goal of mine to have it roadworthy by the 6th, i hope they let me in........i don't have enough time to do body work and paint.

Looks like we'll be leaving friday somewhere between 3-4. If anyone is interested in rolling down from the milwaukee area around that time, pm me and we'll figure the details out

We're htting the show for the weekend. I'll be in the 52' Lincoln Capri, my brother will be in his 1931 Tudor, and so will Pops if we can talk him into going!

 

Well my friends and I plan on getting there Friday afternoon/evening. I’ll be bringing my (new to me) 54 Ford. I just finished completely rewiring it and I am going to lower it this weekend. Need some pin striping and take care of a couple other small items, then I think I’ll be good to go.
