Welcome to the HAMB from GA. And Tiny you have just done what I consider one of the biggest sins on HAMB and almost every other forum I've ever been on. If you would just read what has already been posted on this thread you would have seen that the OP is now located "above Chico".:rolleyes:o_O:confused:

Welcome to the HAMB! I wish you much success on your project. I will be following your build.

It is not necessary to do so, but I would think you would be more likely to have a straight body with good door fit when you are done with all of this sheet metal work, if you do the work with the body on the frame.

Welcome, now we'll be able to see some of that German Engineering we've all heard so much about!:D

  18. I thought about this option also bit consider a this way to do so.
But yeah I will hang the doors to see about fitment.
And I fix the rocker in small sections so it should be fine.
    I hope so

  22. Thanks I really needed your help there. You obviously have never been to California. Yes I saw that he said above Chico there's a lot of state above Chico it would take you 3-4 hours to drive to Oregon from Chico. I live above Chico also is why I ask. You sir have also created the ultimate sin as you call it by correcting something you know nothing about. Higher than though attitudes like yours is part of the reason I don't visit this site much anymore.

My apologies for offending you Tiny, quite the contrary on CA visit though, I lived in Sacramento for awhile, but it's been over 50 years ago.:)
Please understand that it's just that lately it seems that every time I read a thread, somebody posts in and asks a question that has already been answered earlier in the thread, either as a direct response to a question, or as part of the post from the OP, making it pretty obvious that the person asking the question hadn't read the whole thread.o_O
However in this case I didn't realize, because you didn't say you lived above Chico also, that you were trying to ascertain if he was near you.
    Please accept my apology.

  24. I keep welding along.
Thought u can score a deal on a rolling and driving chassis in Orange .ca.
Everything seemed to be fine they just keep me on the minimum information channel.
2 weeks ago I took of Sunday afternoon with my trailer towards Orange just like 500 mls down south but this was the easy part gettung din there after a night on the outskirts of Bakersfield.
I left early in the morning to get around the traffic but dang I got a text asking me not to show up before noon.
I didn't care that much about this request I took my time and made it around 10:30 to my destination.
My first impression wasn't that great carparts everywhere on the ground pieces of perfectly fine trim destroyed sand blasting sand everywhere and in the middle of it a 60's corvette motor.
Whoever this lady's job is she picked me in the yard up and escorted me into the office (car parts stacked on each other and everywhere, and what's that a kids room ?!)
Ok never mind don't judge a book by its cover.
I wanna see the chassis so i snuck out of the office and on my path to the shop i Saw multiple other car lover sins smashing a 40's steering wheel to dust because to lazy to get a puller, bent and smashed parts everywhere.
So the warm and fuzzy feeling about the chassis didn't come up before I saw it, but damn there it is.
Late mercury flathead on a original frame.
That's the good stuff now i started inspecting it.
    No wheel bearing front left
Grease nipple on leaf spring busted off
Rubber on sway bar totally briddle
    No gasket on carb
Carb looks like sand blasted but not rebuild.
Damn she got me so I had to leave the shop for like an eternity so at around 2 I got back into the shop and the guys where still working on it ????
I was supposed to pick it up at noon.
    Further inspections revealed
    Leaking rear axle
    Missing headboard
    Carburator not bolted down
    Fuel pump not bolted down
    Brake lines pinched
And it goes on and on.
Long story short I heard it running but it didn't sound right.
Idle was to high and I didn't know
So compression check and oh my god
Between 90 and 120 psi and number two no compression.
    To be continued
