Hi, My name's Joe, me and my dad have a 1955 olds 98 with a 324 in it. Found a lot of good info on this site so far. Our car is in unrestored conditon but it does run (a little rough). Planning to start rebuilding the engine soon, I want to keep the 324 in it but hop it up a little. Ill pos some pics later tonight.
Welcome! I highly recommend this thread for you. http://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/showthread.php?t=47584&&showall=1
Put pics up, both are from when we first got it about 3 years ago. Since then we've just done a basic tune up, rebuilt the carb, a new fuel pump and she runs pretty reliable. But I'm selling my other car now so we can finally do some major work.
Olds are the best! Don't go too crazy hopping it up, the engnies make pretty good torque stock. The Olds is a heavy car that needs lots of torque to get moving, so make your changes accordingly. Good luck with her!
Welcome to the HAMB from a former 1956 Olds 98 Convertible owner. Can't say it was the best car I ever owned but it was far from being the worst. Come to think of it, I don't think I ever spent a dime on it so maybe it was right up there with the best.
