An Instagram pal (Stewart.Doyle) is out at GNRS and hit up the NHRA Museum and he snapped these pics of the Isky/Mallicoat Bros. twin turbo 327. I had to steal them (with appropriate credit) to show you all... Imagine seeing that out in the pits! Enjoy!
Shagged from a net search. Not too many drag racers get intimidated by anything, but a street racer? An important element not to be overlooked. I always thought this one had just enough: Never been a clone or tribute guy but given the funds and the time I'd do this one.
Idk if this is quite there yet but hopefully will be one day. In my opinion it looks kind of "evil" which I guess can be intimidating. Been a project almost half my life though.
Got to have the Goldchainer @daddy_o's_diner https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum...uce-5-window-updated-with-race-video.1094894/
I have always had a very deep fascination with 33/34 Ford open wheel coupes, (high boys), especially the fuel coupes of yesteryear. I have often wondered what is behind the name, "15 oz.coupe." Anyone know why that name.??
Looked it up, There's a thread on here... Said to be the contents of a burgermiester beer can, Said to have been many, An was during the time the Ground shakers were running it https://www.jalopyjournal.com/forum/threads/the-one-and-only-15oz-coupe.279225/
I'm intimidated by what it does to my savings account. A street driven 6 sec nitro street coupe. View attachment 4564997 View attachment 4564997
The 15oz coupe is still the baddest car on the planet.Seen it run years ago at Famosa and ever since then I love the 33-34 fenderless with big and littles.
Riverside Raceway December 1959 Hello, After reading all about the red rear engine modified roadster of the Speed Sports Special out of Arizona in the Drag News, the Greth, Fisher and Maynard team was pretty awesome. We were impressed. Then to our surprise, it was at the 1959 Riverside Raceway Drag Strip in December, that we personally got introduced to this rather loud, powerful modified roadster in the pits and raceway. It was right in front of us, within touching distance…lots of admiration going on at that moment. (later) The lowered stance set off the tone of the roadster. As it rolls up to the starting line, it was just saying… “let me go…” and go it did. AND GO IT DID! 1959-60 Jnaki If one were to see this red roadster in the next lane or on the elimination board, it would be intimidating to say the least. The race record speaks for itself. There were many copies of this design, some were fast, others, not so much. But, no one or thing ever matched the history and intimidating design of this modified roadster.
