History Interesting headlight lens...anyone know what it is?

Just got this tonight at an auction. Odd that the logo is prominent on the lens. Any ideas what it is? Says 8 1/2 on top reverse LEVEL to left middle. LINE to right middle. Patents Pending and 7 7/16 at bottom reverse. Logo says WING CO. St. Cloud Minn.

Almost think I saw similar lens on a Pan. I'll see if I remember to look at the Pans on display if I get up to the Pantowner's swap this year.

 

Looks like an aftermarket lens, there were a few different ones about.

 

Wing Co. was around at least as far back as 1921. Their lenses were approved by the Iowa State Highway Commission at that time.
