Ouch, At least he didn't shove you into the barrier like one did a friend of mine with his 32 when he was returning from Deuce days In 2016 and tore up the car pretty good. He made it back last year all spiffed up and shiny after a lot of work by one of our members shops to repair the damage and get the body right.

Sorry about your car. I've got American Modern insurance so I will be glad to hear your response.

Isn't this something that the other vehicle's insurance will deal with?

Hope that trucker loses his CDL.
My wife had one back right over her hood and then take off down the road.
Said he didn’t know he hit something.
    We got him good.

Part of the service you pay your insurance carrier for is resolving your claim . You present your loss , your company takes care of you ,that's the first part of the service, then they go after the responsible parties for reimbursement .The person who suffers the loss does not have to communicate or even give a statement to anyone other than their insurance company or law enforcement .

Ya know, it is sad to say we have come to this but dashcams are becoming almost a necessity. I never thought of it before but in the last few years I've seen some pretty outrageous stuff, the least of which is just plain blowing through red signals. No matter what, it would become your word against theirs and the outcome becomes a crap shoot. Glad OP is OK and sorry it happened. Best of luck.

  24. Had a hit & run in off topic collector car.. Hagerty did right by me.. got a few estimates on repairs..

I was in Jacksonville,Fl. A few years ago and a Winn-Dixie semi took the outer door skin off the side of a Crown Vic. That driver kept on going too. I stopped to assist the old couple who were driving the car. Luckily I got the tag # for them. Must be company policy to just leave the scene.
