So I finally got my Chevy just about road worthy. Installing the trim and I have been fighting these stock replacement (made in China) clips. I can’t get them to work. Has anyone had any luck? Any special tricks. Thanks in advance!

A quart of Southern Comfort will help. The repop clips are junk. May have to make some that will work.

My '49 was a bear on the passenger side, and the driver side popped right on. I was overthinking it. Seat the top and push down and in.

Did you put the clips on the car and then the molding? If so, how?

Picture shows old clips, but all new clips installed on car first. On the '49 they snap in to square holes. (May be different for your year?).

Do you then slide the molding on or snap/push it on ?

Plain Jane, plain Jane, plain Jane !!! Throw the mouldings out. JMO, and your many opinions may vary. Clean, simple, and unclutered. Again, JMO. I am Butcdh/56sedandelivery.
