Im building a 215 ford inline six. I have a 3x1 manifold and was wondering if anyone is running the same or similar set up on their ford inline? either a 215 or 223. My main question is what carbs are you running? Thanks Travis
It's a different engine, but I will be running a 200 small six with 3x1 intake. I'll be using Holley 1904s, which were the 1bbls found on the early Falcon engines. They are basically the same as the ones on the 223 engine. I swapped glassbowls from those carbs. I'll be using progressive linakge so that it mainly runs on the center carb and opens the outers on WOT. It's easy to overcarb such an engine, so go easy on the flow.
That's my 54 Belvedere. Those are Mikuni 32mm, and I haven't run it in a while(It's in MO, I'm in MA) but it truly ran like a fuel injected motor--no throttle lag, and great mileage. I'd go with the bigger carbs next time though. Even though it was jetted, it really didn't pull to the high RPMs.
Haring, What did you do for linkage, since ford had such stupid linkage on those carbs on trhe 223, witth the belcrank goin up and down between the motor and the intake. I have 2 of those that i am gonna run on my 292, and i am trying to figure out my linkage atm. any ideas would be helpful =)
