Customs Indentify this crossmember/frame! Please!

    Looking at this kit car. The owner says that it has a 40 ford frame and suspension. Had pic of the front cross-member and part of the frontend. Can any of the good ole boys on the Hamb identify this frame and front end and tell me if it is good. Owner says the frame is only surface rust and all meat is still there and quite usable. All and any responses and ideas will help as I am bidding on car right now!

  5. is it a 49-51 Ford? Think 52/53 are the same

  7. This is a 52 Ford car frame for sale on EBay looks very similar to yours.

    Yeah, the two pairs of holes either side of the front look like 8BA car motor mount attachment.

    I'd say '49 Ford because the stabilizer bar is forward, '50 on the bar was clamped to the bottom of the A arms.

    He said he had a flattie in it, bt the engine and trans are long since gone.

    Interesting, this is like one of the first examples of the A-arm setup that they basically haven't changed up to today. I guess that's why, for a kit car of the Fifties, he must have decided to use it.
