Incredible welds

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by rusty f100, Oct 6, 2008.

  1. Yeah, it's got some splatter - but I'm quite happy with it. Mainly the reason for posting this is because it's a Ford 8.8 axle tube welded to the iron center section. This is the second one that I've done. image.jpg

Some SS flange stuff on a methanol stripping column. Under 15 PSI.

Nicely done Hackman. A little cup walking?

  6. Thanks Paco!
Some of the flanges are cup walked. The bell reducer is dip and go inside and out. We are not restricted to discoloration so the colors are left on usually. Makes for a wild look.

Surgery #4 was January 9th. New doc. They removed a tendon and grafted another one to the radius and ulna bone, pretty major ligament reconstruction. Pry another month or so before I can work. I did have 6 months I made them let me work from July to December, but every time this board changes it freaks me out a bit lol. Thanks for asking though :)

I don't think I posted anything from the time I worked between ops #3 and #4. I'll throw up a few pics :)

The biggest reason I wanted to take a break between surgeries was to get some sculptures done. All tig welded/brazed. Here are a few of them.

I love your sculptures. It takes an incredible eye to make them recognizable without losing the movement and distortion you add. Awesome talent.
    Good luck with your recovery.

    Very nice Robert!

Actually, if anyone is interested...on Miller's YouTube channel there's a playlist of videos we've done together. Look for it to grow when I get back at it: BrownDogWelding/Miller

Jeez, you guys all put me to shame. Amazing examples of the art of welding.

  26. Thank-You, started to watch some of yours.
