Yep, went to Reno area for the scale model contest. I took a few pics of cars there. I guess the show was smaller than usual, but there were more cars. My 1/87 scale I posted in the past took 2nd in factory stock, my purple Mazda Miata took 3rd behind it, and my rusty field car 53 Chevy took 2nd in Misc.
Me too, I especially loved the modified. He used 3 kits to get the right parts. BTTT for those who missed it.
I like the #5 and 6, looks like a dragster with dual purpose streamliner body. Is that a kit, or a modified/scratch built?
cool stuff. not to hijack...but i bought an AMT '32 Ford Phaeton kit the other day. The kit itself is kinda crappy, but cool because of what it is. Also got a Revell '31 Ford C-dan kit, alot like the '29 truck "rat rod" kit. There are a lot of damn good kits out there these days.
It is Attempt 1, a kit of a real car. It has been detailed and cleaned up a lot though. I got the rat rod 29 pickup, it is a reissue kit with a few minor changes. I built an old one in 90, now I will do another only better. If you see the AMT 29 roadster that is now out, it is a good one to get. It is accually the one from the old combo kit that was with the Ala Kart. It has some of the Ala Kart parts, but not enough to build it. I decided I am gonna do it as a pre war modified. I look at the pic of my 53 Chevy hulk there, and I don't see much detail there. I need to take a better pic so you can see the dents and rust better. I think I will just do it for next weekends art show post. I'll add more of my models to that maybe.
