This old building had its facade removed recently and shows it was a Mobil Station way back. Hard to see, but it also says Lubrication and Oil under the Mobilgas letters. It's at the Flemington Circle (Flemington, NJ) where 31 and 202 meet. IMG_5651.jpg

You guys need to start a new abandoned pre-65’ buildings thread.
Or an abandoned Route-66 type thread also. All that automotive history is extremely interesting. Old pics are cool, but So are abandoned ones.
Especially when you compare a side to side photo of it in its heyday and how it looks now.
    Just My opinion.

Close enough for me in August!! Lol

I’ll head on in and grab a couple of balsa wood rubber band planes and a new pocket knife...or maybe a new flashlight. That’s what my local Sunoco carried. It’s a CVS now...

It isn't that we are offended, its just that this thread exists to show stations as they were back then. There are other threads for modern pics.

"Way Back Story" My Grandad owned a"Flying A" station,so that was first brand I liked, the man across the street from my house owned a Gulf, his kid an I played together,so Gulf #2,
I posted earlier post #11 ,a Gulf that is still around near my home an looks the same as it did in the 1930s,but another brand now..
For a number of years every summer end of 40s an early 50s,Dad would take us all from Miami Fl. to mid state NY,his Dad,along with brothers n Dad could build homes tell it started to get cold an we ran back to Miami, was a 3 day trip each way. And why between first grade and 6th,I was in 12 schools* but that's another story.
Dad kind of liked Pure Gas,so my Sis an I, had to look out for the high point roof of blue an white, used as design on most PURE Gas then. Most looked a lot like this !
