    I think it is an anchor point for some frame straightening equipment.

    Welding practice, probably trying to get the correct setting on the welder while welding in the roll bar.

    maybe the builder was superstitous and that was for good luck.or possibly one of his kids wanted to help he gave them the bolt said do something with it.by the way love the car in your avatar.when i grow up im getting me one.

    It bothers me that you left it there while building and driving the car for years. A whack of a hammer would break those crappy welds...

    I think its probably got something to do with weight transfer. Probably knocked the other one off to load that side.

    I believe 1930 A has something there. Lucky thing you didn't get hasty and knock it off after - say 10 or 12years of ponderin - and thought to ask your brothers after a few more years of layin awake at night and wonderin.

    I think that is actually petrified bubble gum holding the bolt there, so basically the bolt with gum on it was laying on the road and it got run over and a tire kicked it up and thats were it stuck.

    the other stuff that they did, I mostly understood. This one was new. I guess I didn't get to spend enough time with tri 5s when I was a kid? or I woulda known about the floor thing.
