I'm Stumped. What's this bolt for?

Ever since I got my 55 over 15 years ago, I could never figure out what this bolt was welded onto the frame for. The car had been hot rodded years ago, I got it as a rolling shell, it had several sets of seat holes, shifter holes, various mounting tabs had been welded to the frame, etc. But this one just boggles my mind. Any ideas? (there's a similar glob of weld on the other frame rail, no bolt, and it's about 8 inches further back).

Its to keep the floorboard from going boink boink when you step on it.

The pass side floorboard has a few small holes rusted in it, but the driver floor is really nice, and doesn't move.

    But that's a good explanation

    Jim,

That almost looks like a shade tree's attempt to place a shim between the frame and the floor pan??? As far as only a gob of weld on the other side....to level out the floor pan????

    Jim,

More questions...Why is that bolt on the left,.... cross member at an angle, whereas the one on the right is 90*. and it looks like those on the far side are both 90* to the cross member.

    Ok, I'll stop looking....

Maybe the previous owner got tired of the bolt falling off the frame.

    Flux capacitor mount.
An obvious forgery too, the correct one had finer threads.

That one doesn't matter, it was a 'secondary'.
The first one is the important one:
There is a term for it, popular amongst the Chevy ranks. It is the "Floor Bolt Main".
They use them for racing. Everybody's looking for 'em.

Looks like he mighta snagged a curb or something with that angled bolt. You know, the one that USED to be straight.

Spare starter bolt. It's always there if you lose one. It got welded there by accident; I never disconnect the battery.
