After all we are all human. If someone has issues with Lloyd and his wife they could always PM him about it or skip his wifes build thread. Hell, my wife flipped me off tonight earlier. Then she gave me a big kiss. lol. :D

Ok , Lloyd back on track... if you are gonna use the stock rear leaf's , the center pin is off center by about an inch and a half. take this into account when installing the rear end or the rear wheels wont be centered in the fenders.

And if you are going to use the factory straight axle and steering with the SBC you will have clearance issues with the steering box. One old school method was to space the box about 1" away from the frame to gain clearance. And now that I think about it more it required cutting that section of frame around the box and spacing it out 1" .

Nah I'm going with different suspension on this truck. Nowhere near stock lol. This is the last one I was building for my son until he decided fishing and girls were his new hobby. I'm gonna go the same route on her suspension.... 20180803_203132.jpg

Alright, little bit of news on Mrs. Stone's truck. Bought another truck for her. It was a complete running truck but a body shop took it apart and let it sit there, so the guy that owned it went and got it. Met the guy while fishing and he told me that he had an old pickup he wanted to sell. Long story short i went and bought it. New small block, new brake system, new fuel system, new radiator, all new glass and rubber, only problem is it's a 55. We're gonna switch cabs. But now we have about everything to put it together. She's happy, and that makes me happy Screenshot_20210524-151229_Gallery.jpg Screenshot_20210524-151225_Gallery.jpg :D

Let me correct myself, her cab is already on her frame. We're pulling everything from this truck to complete hers.

Remember the beds differ also. I prefer the early grill myself.

Flat top rail vs. angled into the bed.

Most impressive Lloyd ! Good on you sir !
You get fresh water in your bowl, and as a bonus, you get to come in off of the porch and sleep in the house this evening ! Its cool that the truck project is making progress!

It might be, what I do recall is giving a guy a 55-9 tailgate to use on his 55.1 back long ago. Not try to worry you....or am I? ;)

Are the frames the same? I don’t know much about those trucks, other that the 55.1 use an open driveline.
But damn, I really wanted to worry ya!
