The wife and I just got in. Whats some good spots to hit? We're pretty beat from the trip so we'll probably just looking to grab dinner maybe a couple drinks. Plus I want to drive the hot rod so if anybody else us out let me know and I'll pm you my phone number.

  2. I guess I'd try to get over to Austin Speed Shop and say hi.

Mat, look at the list that's in one of the round-up thread about places to eat. We used it and didn't have a bad meal the whole time we were there. In fact, I want to go back and hit more places on the list.

  6. Go to Torchies Tacos and have the "Ranch Hand."
    You will thank me later!

Oh, and I'm super bummed that I won't be there to get a ride in that rocket ship of yours! Have fun.

Austin is full of great places to eat. Magnolia Grill is eclectic and unique expect to wait an hour for a table.

Foreign and Domestic will be on your best list forever and as hokey as it sounds, there are gormet food trucks gathered along Congress that are writen up in world traveler type magazines.

    And there's always BBQ.

The local motto is "keep Austin weird".

    Lucy's Chicken!

Hands down, the best fried chicken I've ever eaten!

Plus, there's an awesome pinup girl on the sign out front

The Whiskey Sisters at Continental Club starting at 6:30 tonight. Free show. Great music. Cold beer. Just down the street from Lucy's Chicken, Guerro's Tacos and Doc's.

Come on down Larry, you could make it by tomorrow night!

I guess I'll have to owe you one. I'm sure I'll be at Hamb drags someday.

To everybody else thanks for the replies. I just had to run a grab something with my pull truck and I got a chance to scope out South Congress.

I just unloaded the 34 and we're heading that way now.
