Thanks Swade! Those holes damn near killed me, I've got the bruises to prove it!

Haven't been up to much lately, but finally got outside today. I'm ready to get going on the body. I'm starting with getting the doors done and then moving to the floors and working my way up from there. The doors are going to be a project though as you can see...

Well, that wouldn't be any fun! I figure if I mess it up too badly, then I can look for another.

Well...good news. I finally saw the side profile of the truck for the first time while standing back. Bad news...it's because I'm moving and I've made zero progress on the truck and probably won't for quite some time. It's hard to get a good feel for the stance since it's on a hill, but it should sit level or with a slight rake to the front when I'm done...exactly what I was looking for.

    Welcome back! Cute girls.

You have a ceiling high enough for a lift. I'm jealous!

Good to be back fellas, thanks for the welcome. And, yes, Wayne, I have nice high ceilings, unfortunately, the budget will not allow for a lift any time soon :(

Well...back in December I said I was ready to work. Guess I wasn't. I forgot how much time a new house demands. Anyway, finally got back to some serious work, trying to make some time, so I can actually drive this damn thing.
    First...some mock-up fun:

Then...was final assembling the diff and went too far on the crush sleeve. So, while waiting for a new one, I disassembled the rear suspension to prepare for cleaning and painting the pieces.

That's all for now. Hope I don't crap out again. Maybe I'll get an award for longest running build thread on the HAMB!

Thanks for the detailed build pictures. Questions regarding the ladder bar cross-member. 1.) what is the size of the rectangular cross-member ( 2X4 ? ) 2.) what is the gauge of the cross-member 3.) is the cross-member one piece or several pieces welded together 4.) if several pieces welded together, how did you reinforce the welds. Please keep posting your build details, it provides me the motivation to get my stuff started and done !

    Hey Chris,
I think half the posts in my threads are to welcome me back! I should take that as a sign to keep on it so you don't always have to do that! Thanks though, its good to know you're keeping an eye on me. 64_Vette: the crossmember is 2x3 rect. tubing, .120" wall (11 gauge, just about 1/8"). The crossmember is one piece. I didn't make it though, I bought it from Chris Alston chassisworks as a kit and welded it up myself. And thanks for the kind words.
