Anybody out there ever heard of Illustrated Speedway News?

This was a weekly newspaper dedicated to racing news from a company out of Brooklyn, NY. The issues I have are from '49 to '52, I scanned some stuff, take a look & enjoy!

I have quite a few from the 50"s and 60's. Was a good paper.

Illustrated Speedway News was the NY Times of auto racing publications. Everything you needed to know coast to coast was published there weekly, results, information, parts and cars for sale. Sadly all good things come to an end with the increased cost of publication, postage, man power to produce and competition from regional publications ISN made a slow withdrawal. I think there is still an online version but much different from the old print version.

Is National Speed Sport News (should have said was) older than Illustrated Speedway News? I think NSSN started in the 30's and became the Bible of Motor Racing News, founded by the late Chris Economaki (sp). I have a couple of issues of ISN that I will have to dig out.

    Yes post more clips.

I sold a few ISN in the late 50s at a race track. Was a good paper, edited by Walter Bull.
