37 has always been one of my favorites...
I own a 38, so I choose 37, because I always want what I don't have...
No kidding, that looked like a decent body from the photos. I was looking for a 37, 38 coupe before I settled on my 41 p/u 25 years ago, but couldn't find one.
im in the 38 truck camp but I like both
I love both years........but if I had to choose one...........nineteen thirty seven!
The 37 in my ID is for the Harley I was building when I joined the HAMB, but a '37 Chevy Coupe could find garage space here. Bob
overwhelming results but 1937 was a special year.............check this thread out:
37 is much better looking . and 38 was my first car ,20 bucks
...I've had several of both 37's & 38's,...had these two at one time...
I have had both. In my garage there is no question the 38 fits better
No losers here, but I prefer the '37 because of the grille.
'37-'38 Chevy's have been a favorite of mine for some time, never have owned one..yet.
37. Reason, family connection. My mother's first car in 1946, also a coupe. Still have the photos of it.
37 for me. I think the grille and hood accents are extremely sleek. JMO
I think the '38 is better because it is a regular "car grill". The hood covers the top of the grill, which is the way a late '30's car should look. The '37 grill that goes all the way up looks more like a radiator shell, which clashes with the late '30's theme of the car.
I see someone made a reference to '35/'36 Fords. To me, the same logic applies here. The '35/'36 Fords are definitely "Art Deco" designs. The '36 grill fits the overall theme very well, while the '35 is a "throwback" to earlier radiator shells. I know a lot of folks like the older stuff better, but you really have to consider the overall theme of the styling of the automobile.
My 37 is back in the garage , front clip off awaiting its new 377 tunnel rammed sbc with metal sprayed fenderwells
It's like trying to pick your favourite child, impossible
isn't it obvious?
Another 37 fan here. One of my favorites.
37, this is my third one. Tried to get one of my old 37 back but the current owner didnt want to sell it so got this.
37, 37, 37 all the way! My father's truck and my first ride in a Hotrod.

Both are great looking cars. There's no way to make a wrong decision here.
I imagine the decision was made a couple years ago.
I think so too but these 37/38 Chevys have so good looking bodys .
1938, grill and hood sides are better looking.
Mine now and 40 years ago. Like them both, '37 or '38.
Back in the early 80's I build a 38 Chevy coupe. During that time I had to buy up several other 37-38's for parts that were missing on mine. Nobody was repoping anything for that car. I ended up with a lot of extra parts so I started selling them at swap meets. So for me I still like the front end on the 38 over the 37
'37 all day long. Iconic Chevy as there ever was.
