Features If you could paint this car any color...

So even though I am a LOOOOOONG ways way from paint, I still day dream about color combinations for my 56 Victoria.

My 56 fairlane is red and white, so red and white, and red are out.

This car was originally teal/white, then someone painted it black, then white, then black, then red. Not that that effects anything.

Personally I would love to clear right over the patina, however, there is alot of rot and 500 tons of bondo that I need to get rid of, so unfortunately that is not an option.

General theme of the car is Friday Night Stop Light Action, Stroked and bored 390/ top loader/ 9". Black steelies, dog dishes, maybe trim rings. Mild custom touches - Nosed, decked, louvered hood, shaved handles (maybe), saved antenna, tube grille, staggered stance, dummy spots, peep mirror, etc

So if you could paint it any color, what would you choose? I won't influence anyone by saying the colors I am thinking.

If it helps any, the interior will be black (need to be able to sit in it all greasy), I work, get and drive my cars. Not show cars/ trailer queens.

ALSO, please feel free to post pictures of the suggested colors!

I only ever saw those on 54s. The story was they were to show off the new overhead valve V8 in the showrooms.

All Black for sure. I had a Baby Blue sunliner back in the day, but your's needs to be black based on what you've said about wheels and interior. I'm building a 53 Victoria for the wife, it will be off-white top, seafoam green bottom. Good luck with you 56.

Or mid/dark metallic blue bottom bit and pearl white top. Not trad but I think it would look as good as the other suggestions,... :)

Break the mold. Find a nice commercial tan for the light side (I'd prefer the bottom light), and for the darker, or top color, GM had a commercial color called "Grecian Bronze". It's a dirty orange color, but done nice with a tan offset it pops nice without being Ford Poppy Red or GM Hugger Orange. You did say racer, so steel wheels in the Bronze, with blackwalls of course...

Dark and Light Blue combo. Light Blue with a little flake and the Dark in Satin finish.

  25. You don't see too many in a solid red like that. That's the way I'd go.

  28. I wouldn't paint it.

If I had to, I'd go black on black.
