I went to see the cars in this years Great Race and saw a steering wheel That I really, really want. Can anyone here tell what car it came in? Bonus points if you can tell what two makes it was available for. This is a stock option for the year/make in question. DSC_0055.jpg

I just posted an ID thread for a steering wheel too.

I've no idea on your one, it's different for sure.

I think the studebaker one you're thinking of is the fat man wheel, not the necker wheel

OK, I will tell you that the owner of the car this wheel was in told me that it was also available on another make but I can't find it on the WWW.

According to your add this wheel was only made for the Chevrolet. The owner of the wheel I posted said it was also an option on the 1940 Pontiac but I can't find anything to verify that. I know I would really like to have one to put in my 39 Pontiac project.

That is like the most highly prized steering wheel amongst lowrider bomb builders and therefore extremely expensive unless you run across one in the wild. I've seen rough but restorable ones sell on eBay for over a grand. Lowrider bomb guys are not afraid to pay up for accessory stuff like that, so if you find one outside of an online auction don't hesitate.
