Found this in the basement of a friend in some of his Dad's old junk and as both of us a pretty old I'm guessin this is prolly older! The guy's Dad used to work in Fisher Body in Lansing in the early 50's. I'm guessin this is Oldsmobile in nature because of the rocket theme but I've never seen one like it. It is a light and has a white lense so I'm thinkin it probably wasn't on the back of the car but it is also one of a pair. Any old(s) gurus out there that have any idea. Also this thing has never been on a car, maybe a proto type?...Thanks

Here's a pic of my coupe with Parking lights, the look very similar.

Pull it apart & look for Guide #s or other marking - it looks GM ...

It is most likely GM in origin. Look under the chrome casting base for part numbers cast into it. It has to be automotive and NOS since the base reinforcement plate is with it.
I'd look at photos of Oldsmobile, Pontiac, or Cadillac/LaSalle from 1936-38 for verification. It isn't Chevy or Buick.

My ex-girlfriend used to carry one of those in her purse everywhere she went.
