A fellow contacted me to see if I could ID this Model A body. He is trying to figure out whether it was a drag car or land speed car. I'm sure he is just trying to increase the value since he wants to sell it, but I'm curious as well. Anyone recognize it?
[ QUOTE ] I think thats just a weather balloon...... [/ QUOTE ] Thats too damn funny! I wanted to come up with a smart assed remark, but everything I think of pales in comparison... Good luck on finding info on that thing. Have you tried running a search on Calloway Bros.?.......I'm being serious.
Found this, wonder if your buddy posted this, or if your buddy has more than one. http://www.international-equipment.com/board/?topic=topic1&msg=1296 I've also found a David and a Rick Calloway involved in drag racing in Roswell, NM. Later, -peter
They were trying to set the land speed record, when it crashed on a farm near Corona. I think it's in a barn north of Vegas...
I know the car. It belonged to the guy who owns Calloway safety equipment in Hobbs N.M.Ran in the late 60's early 70's . I can't remember his first name but he still owns the business. Heck give him a call,he's in the bucks now and may want it back. His son is a good friend of the kid that married my niece. They joined the Navy together several years back. TP
