I am hoping a H.A.M.B'r can help me identifly a Halibrand Quick Change I recently bought at an estate sale.

The unit was blown up but enough of it is left over to use as a bit of garage art.

At any rate the end plate says: Halibrand Eng, Torrance, Calif, either H or I-310
The Side plate (only one available) says the same thing
The remains of the carrier also has this number on it along with what I believe says ROADSTER.

Because it features Halibrand side plates and not old Ford bells I am assuming it is fairly recent. the size seems large for a sprint car perhaps it could have done time in a Champ car?

Any one have any ideas as to what it might have been raced in? Whatever it was did some major damage.

    Thank you for the info.

Are you sure it is a 310 and not a 301. It is most likely a Champ. They have been used in Sprint/Champ/NASCAR/Drag Racing/Salt Flats etc.
Is it aluminum or Magnesuim. How about some pictures.

Thats a Champ rear for sure.
(plus it does have the 301 stamping on it.)
Last picture on the right - upside down under a serial number where they usually are.
Torrance were the mid years of production for (OG) Halibrand up to 79 (ish)
