I posted this in the Wanted section of the Classifieds, but hope that it may also get some comments on the main forum. If this is inappropriate, I understand the need to delete.

I am in love with the California Kid. It would be wonderful to find a nice driver quality replica of the 34 3 window coupe from the movie.

I am not all that concerned about the accuracy, but hope that it would look reasonably close in exterior and interior appearance. The body may be fiberglass if the quality is good.

I would prefer a small block Chevy or Ford. I doubt the hood would get opened at shows.

Most importantly is the chop, the stance, the flame job, the louvers, the wheels/tires, etc. I also require an interior that makes me feel like it is "back in the day". I am 6'4", so there needs to be provision to fit myself into the car and drive it in reasonable comfort and safety.

If you have something or can create something like this, please contact me via PM.

    thanks,

    Bob

Martin Sheen's not for sale. Maybe a look-alike.

The site date is old...may be old news and a bit more dough but a pretty externally well done replica...

I dunno...if the 'Kid's' windows are tinted dark enough, can't you just tell all the Kats & Jammers it was you driving by?
...or find von franco and have him clone one...

Call Pete and Jakes here in Missouri they'll build you one, don't imagine it would be cheap but they build some cool stuff. The latest 34 they built has a blown injected Hemi with a quick change!

I was going to suggest the same as Tim, call Jerry or Jason Slover at Pete & Jakes in Peculiar, MO. They have the original sitting on their showroom floor so they know each and every detail. Good people to deal with also and always do what they say. Good luck with the search.

  15. If you find the California Kid .... and buy it, you just may have to adopt Charlie Sheen.

If u want a California Kid Koupe, then you oughta ring up the other 1/2 of the Temple City Twins who built the car in the 1st place. Pete Chapouris #3.
I'm sure that it would be an interesting build for SO-CAL.
It would be great to actually see the movie version of that car in a build again. Steelies, Bias -Plys,QC, Mor-Drop I-Beam, Split Bones, even the complete Milner coupe 283 Engine as shown & built at Blair's as Buddy did the original 302 Ford version, but this time Phil Lukens as Buddy past away a few years back. Let's not forget the side pipes.
Have it squired by Dale Caufeild and Licked by Manuel Reyes
On top that of all of that, it would be built in California.
Below is a Mosaic that resides about 2500 feet from the original Pete and Jake's, Carole Choucair who did this for TC for its public artwork project said that if she'd known about the subject a little more she'd have done the mosaic as close to what Pete originally built in 1973 or outfitted like the Kid on film.

Good luck with the build if ya do it.

Built in San Gabriel and Arcadia and prowled the alleys north of his dad Tom Tanaka's shop and was always over Billy Vinther's in TC when Cal would take it out, Cal's now in Covina.
I'd just stare at that car for hours when he 1st built it.
    Definitely inspired by the Kid.
