I scored a pair of Drop Tanks!

Discussion in 'The Hokey Ass Message Board' started by Fatrod, Nov 27, 2008.

  1. Got a pair of these of ebay here in the UK. They are from a Hawker Hunter and are 11 feet long with a circumference of 65"

That's gonna be a tight fit at only 22 inckes of diameter. Stop eating NOW and you might fit in by the time its done.
Actually congrats on a great find...Keep us posted with your progress.

This is kinda what I was thinking. Then again, it might be a good candidate for an aero type bump and cockpit type windsheild.

  8. You may need to use the center of one to lengthen the other. With such a small diameter, you will need to use a lay down driving position which will require as much additional length as you can muster. Even at that, by the time you subtract the space the roll cage structure will use up, there will be precious area for a normal size bloke. Might look for a lady with really narrow hips and shoulders to pilot your beast.

  10. There are some mighty fine metal crafters (PC) in the UK. I thinks the tanks could be widened both ways with some flat aluminum strips and look wicked.

Looks like your going to need some room to work on that project. I'll help clean up the floor by removing the motor you have in the way. Pm me for shipping info.
