I bought a pretty complete flathead Ford on Ebay that is located in Fresno, CA. I have all the shipping arranged, but the owner says he is handicapt and has no way to place and secure the engine to a pallet to be shipped. Is there anyone in the area that has an engine hoist that could get a pallet and some sort of tie downs, wire, banding or whatever and secure the engine to it???? I will have the engine picked up were ever it is now, you will not have to mess with that end of it. Of course I will pay for the time and materials. Any help appriciated! Thanks, Chris
Yep, I live in the area, wouldnt say I'm very helpful though. I dont have a hoist or a truck to transport a hoist to the guys house. Mark (Royalshifter) may be able to help. PM me the guys contact info, I'll call him and see if there's anything I can do to help.
"I think Royal Shifter lives in Fresno, you could try sending him a p.m." -Jimmy White "Muttley lives there too and he is really helpful." Don't you love how you get "volunteered"! I was gonna volunteer the whole 'Royal Shifters' club and all it's associates in Fresno, with cell #'s and all...but I decided against it. I wanna be invited back to the next annual BBQ! <!-- / message --><!-- sig -->
Muttley - I am here in Fresno. No truck or hoist, but with enough of us we can manhandle it. Let me know if you need an extra hand. Available anytime after 5pm M-F.
Sasquatch Alley here, Strong back and weak mind available. Contact me and I'll do what I can! [email protected]
Thanks guys. I do not want to PM anyone because I do not want to put anyone on the spot or make them feel like they have to do anything they do not want to. This is totally volunteer, and I will pay a fee or have parts to trade for labor or what not. I also do not want guys lifting it by hand. I work at an engine shop, complete engines are way to heavy for a couple guys to lift, and I want no one getting hurt. I really appriciate the thought, but it's just not worth it if someones back gets screwed up. So a hoist or somthing is prefered. If anyone is interested, please PM me and I'll get in touch with the owner of the engine and make sure things work smoothly. Thanks again everyone! Chris
I'm just outside of fresno, I'm in town quite a bit. I have access to a couple of 1-ton utility trucks, cherry picker and a stack of pallets; I'd be willing to help the guy get it put on a pallet and delivered at the trucking depot. PM me and we can go over the details. jon
I know pooh bear from the wanderers has a hoist, give them a bottle of booze and theyll move anything almost.
HAHAHAHA, man thats so true...with all the wanderers. If ya guys need some help. Thee wanderers will help.
