Nice work. Here's one I started on a few years ago that will hopefully be on my 260. I used 2 of the stock 1963 260 Autolite carbs mounted sideways. I used a crown vic lower and had my machinist cut out the port dividers to make a plenum area under the carbs.

  2. I believe that intake had a small round hole between the air intake ports...it's where the exhaust gasses run over to the EGR valve.

Did you close up that hole? If not, you'll have exhaust gasses mixing in with your air & fuel.

They used to make a box style intake like that for the mustangs. I think it ran better when it was running under boost because of the big open space.

Found a picture...this was on a friends FFR.

The adapter plate on mine will block off the center hole, I didn't machine through the center hole.

So, how much horsepower is the dryer putting out with the new intake? But seriously, this is how the Ridgerunner Ram intake evolved, that was the forerunner of commercially available high ram intakes (sort of overlooking the Ramchargers version). As long as the lower part of the FI intake is opened up under the carb plenum, it should be OK for mid to high rpm use; maybe some fuel puddling at lower speeds. Butch/56sedandelivery

  9. wont work, no engineering to accomidate the flugshtangle vorticy's intrensic to the biopulsar pressure flows... leading me to believe you'll build up a wier effect in the customized assessory causeing a blistering engine fire.... best to have full coverage and hope it covers owner modifications
