Patience and perseverance has finally paid off! Earlier this week I was able to buy a friend’s factory injected 275hp, 4spd posi car. The car has a little bit of history that makes it neat.

Here is how the car had been sitting in my buddy’s metal building for almost 35yrs.
I was a little younger than my teenage son when I first saw the car in the exact same spot. I asked if I could buy it to which I was told “don’t even think about it kid!” Adjustments.JPG IMG_1878.JPG Adjustments.JPG Adjustments.JPG Adjustments.JPG

If I were you I'd be very cautious of farting for awhile because, if you were me, I would just about shit myself after making that score. Phhht.

Great score! A friend of mine bought his ‘62 Fuelie in 1972 or near that. Waited until the kids were out of the house and started on it. I believe it’s done now. My fav vettes for sure. Regards, Randy

I had a 1960 Fulie Corvette and sold it when I got married. When I walk around the flea market at HERSHEY and see the guy that restores and sells the F.I. units for about $8,000 it makes me want to puke.

But it is a Rochester The engine that is in there is a tired 327. The previous owner said it was smoking pretty bad when he drove it home.

I didn't say it in the Corvette hotrod thread but that body looks pretty straight. You did good.

  19. That is WAY cool! A buddy of mine has his dads 61 fuelie car that he is looking to get started on. I have decided a while back that I need a first generation Corvette someday. But, that may be a while until after kids are gone out of the house. Congrats!

  22. Will your cowl vent open with that scoop? My 57 had the same scoop and the vent hit it.

I think I'm in the same boat as you, Seriously thinking of leaving the 59 in primer for now . Building a killer small block and squaring the chassis away. Maybe Famoso in 2021 !

No, it hits. My cowl vent is stuck but I did get it to move a bit. I bet it has been 50 plus years since it has opened.

So here is what we know so far.
It is a Southern California car. The oil change sticker in the door is looks like it is from March 25th 1964 at a station in Canago Park Ca. Since this is where I was born and spent my childhood I consider this to be destiny! Lol

Like I mentioned before (unless that was on the hotrod corvette thread) it is originally a 275hp, 4spd, posi fawn beige car. Possibly a hardtop only car with HD springs in the rear.

We speculate that probably some time in the late sixties the car might have been prepped at Blair’s Speed Shop. It’s possible this is where the car received its heater delete, long headers (not sure who made them yet) Muncie 4spd, Hurst shifter, eldlebrock valve covers, maybe the current 327, aftermarket dual exhaust, hood scoop, sun tach and speedometer/ factory tach deleted out with aluminum plate. The next known or at least the last registered owner was as it turns was Korean War veteran and Hollywood Stuntman Bob Orrison. He was a stuntman for Audie Murphy, John Wayne movies, drove the General Lee, drove in Smokey and the Bandit and the bus in Speed. He last registered the car in 1974. Adjustments.JPG

The Stunts unlimited license plate frame and decal are still on the car.
