I thought that myself but I had a closer look and thought 4......but you are no doubt correct and if it was a 4 banger it has an OHV conversion on it...but a six is very plausible. I was thinking the GMC Six but the exhaust is on the opposite side...perhaps it is a Ford Six?...

Or might it be one of these?...

    Quoted from article...

"Wayne OHV conversion: Wayne Horning began building 12-port heads for Chevy inline-six engines in the late 1940s, increasing compression as well as intake and exhaust flow, and nearly doubling horsepower to over 200. This example, purchased from Wayne MFG in ’49 by Jim Roper"

In sobriety I have learned how to be comfortable with a simple life and I have learned that there is more to enjoying life than the thrill of trying to kill yourself...
I enjoy collecting things as much as I do building them, but what I enjoy most is watching my little ones grow up in a healthy environment..

Thank you Germ! This is a great collection, so glad you are sharing it with us. You have to wonder what was lost on those two weekend attic cleanouts that George Barris did. There are thousands of photos out there with no notes or ID's on the back, that makes tracing history such a challenge. Look forward to seeing more photos. Bob

I know this is a two year old thread revival. So shoot me.
Germ, thanks for putting up so much awesome stuff.
One thing you put up I have some experience with. Well not this item, but this process...
You might notice that this is a negative. And it's large. And there is opaque ink in red used to clean it up of stray marks, lint "hickies" and other imperfections. This negative is used to "burn a plate" using an arc to expose a photo sensitive offset printing press plate. I made a few press negatives myself when I was working on a graphic arts degree way back when. I've also had the privilege to meet Richard Peters of Ala-Kart fame and visit his hot rod shop.
These posts (I just discovered them) are jogging the memory big time.
    Thanks again.

Amazing stuff. I missed it first time around. I was amazed at the photo of the James Dean car and letter. BTW, for old time's sake, I still have a jar of that Kodak Red Opaque used to touch-up Kodaliths and similar high contrast printing materials. It was a fine red clay. It came in black, too.
