AMAZING!!!! that is just incredible! you were in the right place at the right time for SURE!! My heart is beating twice as fast as usual, and it's not even my car,,CONGRATULATIONS nads,,,,it couldn't be in the hands of a better guy....i'm hoping to see that in person one day,,PLEASE bring it to the roundup next year..

on another note,,,,i've often thought a filled fin on a 60 or 61 caddy would look killer,,,this car proves that point for sure..

Holy cow that thing is awesome!!!!!!! It's too bad they didn't do the fins like that on the production cars, they're super clean. Same goes with the corrugated trim on the rockers, too kool man......

If all else fails, you can get microfiche readers for under $100 on ebay.

Magic find, only thing is it's kinda a historical relic that probably needs preserving.
Good luck with it and enjoy the old girl.

I know and I'm a cut em up sorta guy, I can't leave 'em alone plus the fact that it only has 38,000 original and documented miles means you can't really drive the wheels off of it.

  7. awsome find. i wouldn't sell it for anything. comming out of detriot, i have to wonder if the alexander brothers had anything to do with it. as far as driving it goes, i think that the history of the car and what it is would trump a few extra miles. if it was a 38,000 mile stocker, i think the miles would mean more.

I could disconnect the speedometer, ha ha.

Man, if there was an Alexander Brothers connection I would freak, but I think this is solely the work of GM.

  12. Believe it or not, try a hobby shop that has Walthers (primarily model trains) as a distributor. They used to send out their monthly "in stock" updates on microfiche, so a shop that's been in business at least 10 years may well have one, the place I was involved in for a few years had one. They could even still do it for all I know, I've been out of that for a while, but I suspect the internet has replaced all that stuff.

That you're the only guy to see it doesn't surprise me, I have a batch of things on Craigslist and can't get anyone to come look at most of them. The one that did look at the one, bought it.

  18. Nads, You are the perfect person to husband this piece of history. I flipped last night when Brian texed me photos. Just wonsering how long until you showed the world! Great find, buddy! Ill be back there this weekend and cant wait to see it!

So you answered the ad, saw the car, went home to research it. Then went back and bought it? That had to be the longest night of your life.

    Nice find,
    Bill

Nads, i'm REAL happy for ya!
I LOVE 60-62 Cadillacs! Always wanted one...
Like you, i can't leave anything alone, and have sold cars that were too "nice" for me 'cause i knew i was going to screw them up..
If i had that one, i'd either leave it as is, or restore.
One could only imagine finding something with that history, and in that condition..VERY NICE!

    CONGRATS and ENJOY!

  23. Holy shit Nadeem! That totally fucking rules! What an amazing car! nice work my friend...nice.

It looks like that auto-show picture shows the car in a 2-tone. Is that right, or am I seeing things?

I absolutely LOVE 61 caddys...my favorite of that era.

Lots of knowledge from Old School Classic Crowd

From personal experience, having sold a vehicle to the
GM Heritage Museum only to see it cross the auction block
at Barrett Jackson a few years later at a tidy profit for them

Last place you want to go .... ;)

What you have has potentially great historical significance
and a high collectibility and market value

I would do nothing to it, store it away out of sight for now

come on. lower it and add some astros.. that will make the purist cringe..

or take it to Barret Jackson in Az and sell it. leaving it stock is boring and you will get tired of it (plus think of how nice of a normal Caddy vert you could get for the money you will get out of that one.

  28. Cool car!

So when are you going to rattle-can it flat black and put skulls on it? :D

National Cherry Queen? Something about that just doesn't sound right.
