i wonder if Plowboy will get "Atomic Punk" put in his tires, that would be killer. now if you guys can make the transparent firestones again............
It'd be fun to get some sort of animal footprints cut in, then drive around someone's yard leaving tire tracks. They'd think that they were visited by a herd of bunny rabbits from Hell. Seriously, though, did any cars 'back in the day' have custom tread like this (other than the checkered flag tires)? Not trying to start a 'traditional' battle, I'm just curious.
That's kinda of bitchen, there are a lot of things that could be done, unfortunaltely a some of them could get tacky. I've been kicking around the idea of having someone doing some pinstriping and trying to cut in to a slick for tread. This could work for something like that.
for those who asked... having writing in the tires is VERY traditonal... just look back at the early Firestone tires now reproduced by Mr. Coker... https://store.coker.com/prod/28x3-firestone-non-skid-all-white.html they were nonskid tires and the tread stated as much! my father has an original tire in his garage, but I'm not close enough to take a good picture
That would be killer. Too bad this didn't come about before he debuted it. It would be the perfect touch on a ride like that. (hey.... perfect touch... that might be a good name for his next project!)
With a race car tire grover,I cut some of my pinstrip patterns into a show cars race sliks in the early 1960's"The Dignified Deuce"was Tom Finellys. He used those tires for about 6 months, tell his drag car tire suppler told him to do adds at the rod and custom car shows too for what they were selling.
