Hey everyone! Just dropping in from Houston, TX. I've been searching for some good info on early to mid 50's chevys and I've hit the jackpot! You guys are an amazing wealth of information on all things vintage! I wish I had found this site sooner! I'm looking to buy a 53-54 bel air asap, just waiting for the right one to come around, so if ya'll have any leads send em my way! It doesn't matter if its a driver or a basket case, just looking for a straight body and frame. The more complete the better though! Thanks again everyone, I hope to get to know ya'll better real soon!

Welcome aboard! This place is the best, I'm addicted to it.
I'll keep my eyes and ears open for your Chevy. You looking for a post or hardtop?

Welcome from Deer Park. Look on Craigslist there are a couple of 50's Chevy's on there at the moment.

    thanks everyone for the responses!

meteor, i would prefer a post because they're easier to chop, but if i find a good hardtop, i'd probably end up leaving it as is top wise.

and aldixie, i've been checking craigslist almost daily, but haven't really found the right one yet. i found one a year back that was damn near perfect, had a great mild chop, camaro front clip and rear end, fresh 350/350 combo. all it needed was some finish work, paint, and interior. but the stars didn't align and i wasn't able to scoop it up. been regretting it ever since, so i'm not going to let it happen again. if i find the right one, i'm going to jump on it.

and nice to see so many texans on the board, especially houstonians! thanks everyone for the warm welcomes!
