Thinking about getting a straight axle to fit under my willys frontend, what is the track width of a 40-41 willys??? will this front end be a good choice? 48" GASSER 'CHEVY' AXLE KIT Item #: 9103948 Item Details: 49-54 Chevy Spindles, Specify bolt pattern, 48" Wide axle - 56 1/2" hub to hub. http://www.speedwaymotors.com/Gasser-Axle-Spindle-and-Brake-Kits,25490.html
Jim tinsmith at Tinnys Hot Rods makes an awesome axle. He knows the proper width. His # is 215-453-7999
48" is almost certainly too wide - that would be a Kingpin to Kingpin measurement. 46" KP to KP would be a better choice. Can you specify which particular measurement you require - kingpin to kingpin or hub to hub? Track width is of little help.
Thanks for the info guys, I'll check with tinnys I think that the 56 1/2" measurement is from drum to drum (or disc) surface is that what a stock willys is???
