I am in the process of moving . My shop is about finished and need to move my truck project . The problem is that the truck is a roller but none of the steering is done so trying to pull it up on a trailer or down the road would be a problem. Thinking of bolting a flat bar across from spindle to spindle and attaching a tow bar to the bumper , what do you think? I am trying to come up with a trailer with a winch also ,any ideas? It is around two miles to pull it.

I'd bolt it up like you discribed then put it on a trailer. I hauled my Model A the same way.

  3. If its only two miles i wouldnt bother whith atrailer. Just hook a tow bar to it and run some trailer lights to the back of it and go. I have done this so many times its not even funny...

:D HEY I AM CHEAP! That 2 miles would cost me as much as some tools or parts or....
Hopefully a buddy of mine will get back with me on his trailer , he is working out of town, my trailer is full of concrete chunks an debris. I think once I bolt the spindles together that will solve most of my problems.

Just a wild thought about the tow truck.......A bar across the steering arms and tow bar is probably the best bet.

The bar instead of a tie rod might be a problem if your stearing is in front of the spindle... It might not want to straighten out after a turn... It might not be an issue, but watch out....
