. . . for a spreader bar that is. My front frame horns are about 22 1/2 apart and need to me 23 to fit a standard spreader bar. Front cross member already welded in. I have no torch. how to get that last 1/2 -a piece of wood and bottle jack?? I'm trying to push it out but not splay the front end. Any suggestions appreciated.
For a car; First determine what side is off....If they are both off jack and some wood will work. If one side is off you would need to secure the frame to the floor and use a come-along to pull the other side into alignment. For a female: either show her your bank account or as suggested alcohol will work. Be careful though once they spread; things can get expensive.
I agree, because if you spread the horns it will look spread. Plus, if there are side flanges welded to the bar, they won't sit flat on each horn. but I'll bet it's chromed alteady? Still want to try? Use a small hyd jack. Keep the valve body/handle at the bottom so the jack will still pump fluid.
