We recently made collectors for our super low 31 roadster and needed to have them turn back without dropping down too much and came up with this simple process to minimize how much they hang down. We used a piece of pipe with a bend already in it and just turned it at an angle going thru the collector flanges that came with the headers and tacked it in place on each side. We affixed one of the bolts in the collector to allow us to minimize hang down. We then cut off excess pipe leaving plenty of material on the sides and then beat the pipe with a ball peen hammer to spread it out and welded it into place. It only drops 1 1/2 inches lower than the header and has good flow on the inside.
