I am helping a friend with a 1948 ford pick up and he wants to lower the front, We have looked at putting the beam axle on top of the springs but it looks like the drag link may hit the spring. I need some info before we start pulling it apart.
I got a reversed eye main spring and took out 1 leaf. It dropped down to right where it would have been if someone would have lowered it in the fifties. Took 2 leafs out of the back. Have been driving it this way for over 10years and it rides just fine. Ordered the reverse eye main spring from Sacramento Vintage Ford.
