Can someone tell me how to tell if this was a 2 door or 4 door before the modification to a pickup. Or what do i need to look for to id it myself.
4 door I think . The picture angle isn't great for what you're asking , But the door looks short like a 4dr . If the door is longer than 34.5 inches front to rear , It would be a 2 door.
So if i measure the coupe door it should be the same length and height? next question what should i do with it? i have a friend that says he knows where there is a back half of one but i question his knowledge, he did not know if its a 2 or 4 door. maybe i will take it apart and put it in storage for spare parts. poor car keeps getting full of snow and now that i have my dads old car i need to preserve what i can.
if its all reasonable score it and build a car out of it , looks like it would be a nice project sell the p/u bed and spares on the hamb board for parts money ,
I need the bed for this one I sure did hope it was a 2 door but its spare parts for the coupe now. i hope the frame is good. are the frames the same?
Yes, frame is the same for all body styles '35 to '40 and '35 to '41 pickups. Only difference on car vs pickup is a couple extra body mounts on the cars. Ray
The frames are virtually the same , they will interchange . The truck frames and the convertible frames are made of a slightly heavier guage steel than the others ( I believe 11 ga. as opposed to 12 ga.) . These frames have a large upper case H stamped in the x-member for "heavy" . Other than that , I believe they were the same in 1940 .
sorry which one? i dont have any better photos uploaded that i can show. i can take beter pictures tomorrow.
4 door.. i have rear 4 door sedan doors.. (as do many others I am sure) but based on what I see everything else to make it back to a 4 door is there.. if you could find the rear section of a coupe.. you'd be in
