How to get "BANNED"?

Entitlement??? Hmmmm. Seems to be way too much of that these days.

 

I've been busy fighting the SFI and expect a reprimand for the drama. It's been said before, drama sucks. Period. On topic, no drama, no problem.

I do miss the old days when a guy could bust chops just for the heck of it. ;-) I'm trying to behave but it's hard!

Gotta say the old folks comment cracks me up.

 

Of course, some people deserve to be banned and can't socilize with others in any situation...

I read things on the HAMB for months before joining and observed as follows...

Like any established group, there are "made guys" who get away with anything they want to, can bully and abuse other posters, can post on classifieds and basically break all the rules that we "FNG's" have to abide by... I know my place here in the other 98% now but didn't understand that completely for the first week or so...

Agreed. They should show some respect for those who volunteer their time freely to keep this forum centered on its core purposes.. I know I sound like a brown noser but all the moderators do this because they believe in it. Rarely do you get those people who volunteer so much time because usually when someone believes in something and wants to contribute to it, they feel they should be paid for it. You guys don't.

I do have a problem ( as a Mod ) with the Nazi term.

But not for the reason most would guess.

In my mind that term tries to parralell a little Internet incident with WWII atrocities.
And seeing what kind of lifelong effects those atrocities still have on that periods survivors makes it unacceptable to me.


I think its disrespectfull.

To those survivors.


Its unfortunate that some goofball with a show about nothing made the term popular...

I'm enjoyin the heck out of this site, haven't been called a FNG for awhile, when do i get to be a "newbie"? I'll be 60 in a few weeks. I know thats still a youngster to some though. A few years ago somebody paid me the compliment of calling me "boy" , i grinned and said thanks! Totally confused the situation---- probably won't live long enuff to be "old school" though i built a flattie at the age of 17. I believe if yer gonna say something to offend someone you need to say it in person. The folks running this site (who i don't know at all), should be thanked by the members, otherwise obviously it wouldn't exist. FNG--well i'm ok with that but anybody really wants to toss out an insult, please do it in person. Hope to be at the next HAMB Drags. Question, why not have more races? Hotrods, build em like you like em, i don't really care whether or not anyone else would have done it "that way".

 

I wouldn't go as far as to base that term on your life experiences with hot rodding. You're new to the forum, that's all that term means. I'm at member status but that doesn't mean I have more automotive knowledge than you do.

Calling a moderator a Nazi is what he's talking about, in reference to them doing something moderator-like that is unpopular.

The other "N" word doesn't even merit discussion.

I still wonder why one of my threads was closed. It wasn't pornographic, it didn't bash anyone, It wasn't off topic. But I resigned myself to the fact that it's not my site, It ain't a democracy, It may not even be a benevolent dictatorship at times. Maybe the moderators knew of some political BS that I didn't. Who knows. Maybe they felt it wasn't worth the hassles the drama queens were causing. The Mods usually do a pretty good job so I left it up to them. Just roll with the punches and take it for what it is.

 

Guessing I'm too old and non forum smart to have a clue what the hell that means. Glad I don't use the word Nazi on a daily basis. Oh well , carry on.

 

I'm new to the site and don't understand everythig totally ......What is the FNG under our member name mean?..........remember, I went through the 60's-and 70's ....and what I best remember was having a good time...when Cruising in your car was King.
