(IMO) It would be a much better post to ask about the cars we had "before" we were legally able to drive.

I have a list of all my cars, trucks, and motorcycles. Purpose-built race cars aren't on the list and IMO do not count as they aren't "real" as in they don't have titles. Currently, I am at 102. My goal was to have 100 by the time I turned 40. I am 39 years old as of this post.

  5. Last time I updated my list it was 126.

    Hello,
Other than the Model A, the first 40 Ford Sedan Delivery, the first 58 Impala, the 1940 Willys Coupe, the 65 El Camino and the 62 Corvair, and the second 40 Ford Sedan Delivery, all others were new cars not on the official HAMB approved list.

32 and I am 46. Only one was new. My First car was my grandpas only new one he ever bought 76 olds 455 in my avatar. Half were probably resurrected by me. Right now I have an 85 c10. 82c10 stepside. 85 c30 dually driving daily. 71 Cheyenne long bed that I drove daily for years. 68 chevelle ss 396 4sp Muncie rock crusher it’s redone and I need to sell it too nice. And a 99 yukon. Wife has a nice used 15 Tahoe tho. I can’t drive anything newer. The 99 Yukon bores me. Too nice with heated seats and a/c and radio that works. Once I get the carb straightened out on the 50 silver streak I’ll be driving that a lot, 45 miles from work each way.

I was born too late in life in the wrong area to enjoy the availability of cars the most of you've owned. I had parts off of at least 17 different cars that I recall having purchased to put in to my first driven car. OT 67 Chevelle. Built right along with the oldman to keep me away from the idle hands syndrome that would have admittedly put me in jail or the grave. Dozen or so other still OT project cars that I either got bored with or for one reason or another didn't pan out. Only maybe three of those I regret letting go because they were clean cars with some odd options that could have been nice cruisers.Women and firearms as a hobby cut those short. The newer daily commuters I don't count as having owned because they were just utilitarian and there was nothing enjoyable about them. At this point I wish I'd have kept my 40 sedan project as a current day family type cruiser but I couldn't really commit to it at the time because it really didn't "fit" what I saw myself after purchasing it and I had bills to pay. Chopped coupe was just too rough to do in a single car garage and have turn out in a manner I'd be happy with. Now I find myself looking at econobox cars with multiple airbags for my kids to drive but want a 40 Ford coupe like my father was building when I was a child, contemplated doing a 32 Bantam glass car that he purchased from the estate of a dead friend but think it may strike a cord that I don't know I want to approach. Early memories sat between the rails of a muffler moly frame over a quick change with a DZ motor with a Hilborn on it with real mags and 12 spoke spindle mounts on the front I recall eating the dashpad after a panic stop in what was most likely a 69 or so GTO when seatbelts weren't mandatory. I obviously survived. Remember heading out to Gettysburg in a 70 BB Monte with cloth seats with no AC and an 8 track with Seger or Hank Jr playing. Or I'd build a 55-57 Ford,or Chevy, 60s Fairlane,37-39 Chevy coupe, early Stude,64-67 GTO to go out in without having anybody tasting the dashpad/radio bezel and maybe play somewhat more contemporary music for the kids to play back in their mind.. I'm really not picky. Just want to build a car and get back out in something early with the kids. Maybe have a moment where I can say I remember doing this a long time ago and it stuck with me.Daughter just wants to drive and my son thinks a DeLorean is his dream car. Got my work cut out for me. Times have changed and I'm getting older and more out of touch by the minute.
