I am a professional ditch digger....
Seriously, I am a Drainage Superintendent and look after 26 miles of canals that protect an agricultural area (7000 acres) that is below the water levels.
I run and maintain pumping stations, and about 30 miles of interior drains to keep the area dry.
Not car related, but I do get to play with some cool equipment.

I'm a state fish biologist. I study habitat constraints durring the day and then go home to my 28 chev at night. Times are tough here too, state budget cuts mean job losses over the next few months.

  21. Variety, the spice of life...

Currently bicycle accessories is my gig.

I'm a product manager. Mostly a fun job creating ideas then developing them into new products. Been at it a while.

No hot rods, but mucho hot rod inspiration into much of what we've created. The company I work for began as a speed shop back in the day, and holds the Hot Wheels licence for some product lines currently. We do have car racing and motorcycle helmet and accessory divisions but not part of my responsibilities.

It's been said that a Monkey could do my job. Haven't seen one try yet, but might be interesting to watch...

  26. I'm a Manufacturing Engineer for a Fortune 300 defense contractor. We make things that help kill people in large quantities from high altitudes. Someone has to step up and do it.

Duties include tool design, material review, I handle any and all manufacturing problems intrernal and supplier related ones as well. My days range from total chaos to days like this when I get paid big buck$ to surf the HAMB board.

Controller for an automotive auction company - ADESA.

Starting a machine shop on the side though, not really too HAMB-type car focused though. Jigs, fixtures, small machines, etc. We do some custom work though.

My union card say's I'm a truck driver but... I am actually the night buyer for a large local produce company. Basically, when you go out to eat, or what you eat at your work or school cafeteria, I probably bought it. Also if you eat when you went to the casino's, I probably bought that too...:D

Job sucks in the winter because of the cold but summer is awesome. I'm high on the seniority list too. #11 out of 67 drivers, so that's 56 that get axed before me:eek:

Business is slow right now but it slows down every year in Jan & Feb. March thru July and Sept thru Dec are busy...
