just curious how many Hambers have one of these IMO pretty cool looking sedans... one of my favourite cars is a 1956 4door hardtop. If you've got one ,I'd love to see it!!:)

  6. A few years ago I owned two 57 4 dr htps at the same time. One was a pretty solid car. The other if ya opened the Rear doors ya better hold them up cause they might fall off. There is a special body floor pan crossmember that is 4 dr htp specific that is structally importiant. That crossmember is prone to rust away. At the time I owned mine no one was making that crossmember. Gene Smith was planning on making them. However He has passed on . So if you looking to buy one be shure to thouroughly check out that crossmember and door pillar. I sold the two cars I owned. I just dont care for 57,s. personally I dont like the dash and the massive Front bumper. Old Wolf

Don't own one, but I wish that I did.

Here are some photos of my older brother's 57. The first is from when he bought it in 1969, and the second is after a full body off restoration was done in 2011. The third is from last years Meltdown Drags in Byron ILL.

Sorry for the bad pic only one I have right now, this is my dads hardtop we've had for 17 years I think. Found it and gave it to him for fathers day.

Had a '56 ... parted it out ... beautiful body style but the frame was gone ... kept the steering wheel and dash for the next rod. I have the ignition switch in my current rod.
